TransparentBudget is a set of free calculators that run in your web browser. This page explains what information is involved when you use the site, in plain language. If anything is unclear, you can always reach us at privacy@transparentbudget.com.

Information We Collect

The numbers you type into the calculators (budget categories, bonus splits, loan balances, and so on) are stored only on your own device using your browser’s built-in storage (localStorage). We do not send that data to our servers, because we do not operate a login system or a backend that receives your financial inputs.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep routine technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) when you load a page. That is standard internet infrastructure—not a dossier on your finances.

How We Use Your Information

Calculator data stays on your device so the tools can remember your work between visits. We do not use that data to build a profile about you, sell it, or share it with data brokers. There is no account and no “upload” step—what you see is what stays local.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand anonymous traffic: things like which pages are popular, what country visitors come from, and whether people use phones or desktops. GA4 is configured for aggregated usage statistics, not for storing your budget or loan numbers (those never leave your browser).

You can use browser settings or opt-out tools offered by Google to limit analytics cookies if you prefer.

Third-Party Services

The site loads a few resources from trusted third parties so we do not have to run our own servers for fonts, styles, or scripts. That includes Google (Analytics, AdSense, and sometimes fonts or scripts), content delivery networks for libraries like Tailwind CSS, and similar providers. Those companies have their own privacy policies that apply when their scripts run on your device.

We use Google AdSense, which may place cookies and may show personalized ads based on Google’s understanding of your interests and your activity across sites that use Google advertising. You can adjust ad personalization in your Google Ad Center or your browser’s privacy settings.

Data Retention

Calculator data lives in your browser until you clear site data or uninstall the browser. We do not control that storage from our side. Analytics and ad partners may retain their own logs according to their policies and your choices.

Your Rights

Because we do not operate accounts and we do not hold your calculator inputs on our servers, there is usually nothing for us to “export” or “delete” on your behalf—that is all under your control in the browser. For questions about analytics or advertising data held by Google, Google provides privacy tools linked from their help pages.

We do not sell your personal information.
